““But Clarisse’s favorite subject wasn't herself. It was everyone else, and me. She was the first person in a good many
years I've really liked. She was the first person I can remember who looked
straight at me as if I counted”” (Bradbury 68).
This passage from part
two should be in the top ten because it reflects upon Clarisse. It once again
shows how she’s different from the rest and how she was a turning point in
Montag’s life. She is the only one who liked to know about everyone else and
the only person he really liked in a long time. It shows his feelings for her
and why the liked her so much. Maybe Clarisse has something to do with the
books. Maybe Montag could figure out why she was like that if he read a book. I
feel like this passage shows you that Montag is turning to the books for
answers.
